AN IMPROV COMPREHENSIVE
(from 'Yes/And' to 'The Harold')

​Take a hands-on, laughter-filled tour
through the history of Improv.

Begins Monday, Aug. 25
Mondays - 7;00 to 9:30 pm

An in-depth study of Improvisational comedy covering a variety of methods, styles and theory in relation to their history and origin. This 5-week class will cover a sizeable amount of information in a short period of time, making it a must for professional performers, but also can give a beginner a significant head start with a well-rounded understanding of the art of Improv.

Classes will be instructed by professional actors and directors, will operate in an enjoyable, collaborative environment and will be a safe place for all to stretch, exercise and grow.
An Improv Comprehensive will benefit both the beginner and the professional by allowing students to advance at their own pace. There is no pre-requisite and all are welcome.

Improvisation skills and techniques are broken down into basic concepts and made accessible through games and exercises which are fun, funny and a really good time. Whether you have ever been on a stage or not, the core concepts behind improvisation will build confidence and improve communication skills in all areas of life, from day to day work and personal interactions through professional performance. And, best of all, improv is pretty darn fun.

Find your voice as an actor, or sharpen your skills in this 5 week breakdown of the art of acting. Starting with basics and continuing through to modern methods and theory, This course provides a foundational exploration into the craft of acting by simplifying techniques down to the roots and then moving these concepts through a variety of styles and techniques. Beginners are welcome but experienced actors will value the opportunity to assess and strengthen skills. Students will achieve a fundamental base of acting techniques and skills through a blend of exercises, discussions, and performance opportunities.

Performing is fun, and taking a performance class is no exception. Many of our students enroll for the sheer enjoyment,
but, there are also many real-life opportunities out there if you know where to look. Not only do we here at Monster Box
prefer to cast and work with actors that have trained with us, but, no matter where you go, nothing shows off the work
that we do in our Training Center better than your success. We are proud of our track record, and even more proud of our
past students, so many of which are working all over the country and have made this their career. So, if performing is
your goal, or your dream, or just something you want to try, you are in the right place. This is a great place to start.

Monster Box Training Center classes are professional in nature, but our main objective is to bring the Arts closer to the community and provide opportunities, not only for actors to enhance their skills, but also to enable anyone to enrich themselves through exploration.
