Improvisational Comedy is a unique art form in that it is the only type of performing that you can not rehearse. There is a certain level of confidence that a musician or a stand-up comic can feel from being well-memorized through practicing and performing the same material over and over.  With Improv, the actor does not know what is going to happen until they are on stage in front of an audience. Therefore they have to work even harder to train a set of skills that will hopefully enable them to think quickly enough to instantly become a believable character, while writing their lines at the same time as they are saying them while also being funny. The joy is that you will never hear the same jokes twiceand every show is new and different. And there is also something fun about seeing the process unfold.
